(Kaieteur News) – Aleeba London, the 26-year-old suspect wanted for the murder of Bartica boat operator Ryan Fredericks, 40, is no stranger to police.
In 2024, police issued a wanted bulletin for him and another man, Dellon George, for a series of robberies committed on Chinese owned businesses along the East Bank Demerara (EBD) corridor.
There are no reports on whether he was ever nabbed and placed before the court, or if he was cleared of the allegations leveled against him.
However, he is widely known for being the main suspect in a violent robbery committed against a 10-year-old school girl in June, 2020.
A much younger London had appeared at the Diamond Magistrate’s Court before Magistrate Rondel Weaver to answer to charge.
He had pleaded not-guilty and was remanded to prison. There were no further reports on whether he was ever convicted of the crime.
He was accused of punching a 10-year-old school girl in the stomach and robbing her of her cellphone and cash.
Fast forward to 2025 he is now being accused of murder. Police suspect that he might be involved in the killing of Bartica boat operator, Ryan Fredericks on August 28, at an EBD hotel.
Police has since charged a 29-year-old housewife, Kassandra Waldron, for murder. She was remanded to prison. Police had captured London too.
He was scheduled to appear in court on the same day with Waldron to face the murder charge, but slipped out of the court lock-ups after a police sergeant left it unattended to fill-in for a colleague who was running late.
London is now a fugitive and the sergeant and the colleague are now under investigation by the police force’s Office of Professional Responsibility (OPR).
