(Kaieteur News) – Two bandits on a Lindy Scooters robbed a Chinese National moments after he stepped out of a minivan along Saffon Street, Georgetown on Saturday.
The robbery took place in the morning hours and it is believed that the bandits may have been trailing the minivan. CCTV camera mounted on a nearby building captured the robbery.
Footage showed that the bandits pulled up on the scooter just moments before the vehicle pulled up and parked in front of the Bacchus Drug Store. When the minivan arrived, they circled the vehicle and pulled up alongside the front passenger door. When the unsuspecting Chinese National opened and stepped out, the pillion rider came off the bike and greeted the Chinese National with a fist bump.
Just as the Chinese national was almost across road he “brackled” him. While he was robbing the victim, his accomplice rushed towards the passenger side of the minivan where he grabbed something from the seat. The driver of the vehicle tried to reverse but by the time he could, the accomplice had already grabbed some items from the passenger seat and ran back to his bike.
The other bandit also ran behind him after grabbing two cellphones from the Chinese National’s crotch.
Kaieteur News was told that they escaped with cash and cellphones.
The Chinese National reportedly went to Saffon Street to make a payment.
