CWI Rising Stars U-17 50-Over Championship…
Kaieteur Sports – Guyana suffered another tough loss yesterday at the hands of Jamaica, coupled with some bad weather which further helped ruin the season for the local lads, as they went down by 6-wickets (DLS) yesterday at the National Cricket Center.
After posting 118-6 in their match that had some overs shaved due to bad weather, Guyana were indebted to the likes of Shamar Apple (31), Adrian Hetmyer (18) and Parmeshwar Ram (16), the primary scorers for their team.
Ramnaresh Singh starred with three wickets for Jamaica, who finished on 122-4 to help seal a convincing win after a brilliant half-century from Odane Binns (57*) coupled with knocks from Danza Hyatt (20) and Ryan Littleton (22). Bowling for Guyana was led by Feaaz Baskh who grabbed 2-24.
Leeward Island and Windward Island had their game squashed without a ball being bowled. Meanwhile, Trinidad & Tobago notched up a 23-run win over Barbados after the former posted 194 all out before knocking over the Bajans for just 171 all out, thus sealing a win.
