Dear Editor,
Kaieteur News – If the diplomats involved are not willing to come forward and take responsibility for the accident that has left one of our law-abiding citizens in critical condition, they must be asked to leave the country.
Diplomatic immunity is one thing, it is quite another matter if they disregard and try to circumvent the laws of our land. Any country that allows members of their diplomatic corps to behave in such a manner is of questionable character and we must reconsider our relationship with such a country. If they cannot respect our laws, the rights of our citizens or the value of a Guyanese life, we should no longer value our relationship with such a country.
The choice is simple. Those involved must come forward and do what is right or they must leave, and we must break diplomatic ties with the country they represent, which is also hiding these culprits. We should have no interest in such unruly and disrespectful people being a part of our society. The way in which the police and the members of the diplomatic corps handle this matter will speak volumes about the importance of justice over political and financial influence. It is an opportunity for the government and all those involved to do the correct thing. It is CRG’s hope that this opportunity will not be wasted.
With utmost concern,
Mr. Jamil Changlee
Chairman

And the culprits in this accident, the driver ?
And the Country that is represented ?
KN needs to publish these names that Guyana Government and Police are
protecting.
Doesn’t a Guyanese life matter, a senior citizen’s life or injuries ?
