Dear Editor,
Kaieteur News – Many people grew up hearing of terrifying stories from the ‘old days’ where the PNC being the aggressor. Looking on today, any sane person would question these stories. Looking at the news you will see aspiring politicians being met with ‘Militants’ of the PPPC disrupting peaceful interactions. In addition, you see the various government agencies being used as a form of political victimization and the political leaders suddenly finding all sort of information to besmirch their opponents. It must be noted that there’s a personal axe grinding against the only two independent newspapers, Kaieteur News and Stabroek News as long as one could remember, with direct economic sabotage. All election these proactive actions are constantly being introduced mainly by the PPPC. This term they seems more demoralized in creating mischief. Is it the fear that the newcomer could make them an opposition or minority government?
Editor, I keep insisting that for Guyana to live in unity and prosperity, we need young ambitious young people to challenge the traditional parties and make a change. Now, new comer
Azruddin Mohamed seems to be making a powerful statement of his presence and from all indications, the PPPC seems very much alarmed of his popularity he’s gained so far, through his generosity. The Amerindians vote always been the deciding factor in elections here, and the support they’ve shown to
Azruddin Mohamed seems quite convincing that there would be a major shake up in the voting pattern in Guyana. Between the two parties whilst in governance, the Amerindians were always being fed promises and being neglected. Interestingly, through his generosity, he’s managed to gain quite a number of admiration within the Amerindian communities. The reasoning is that he’s not in power and doing so much for them, and should he be in power, they stands to gain a lot. Whilst the government depriving them of what’s rightfully theirs, they are hell bent on stifling them.
Finally Editor, regardless of all the newly formed political parties, without a doubt, newcomer Azruddin Mohamed stands a better chance of garnering more support than them and if they are genuinely interested in seeing Guyana gets out of this ‘wutless’ position, they should all consider coming together and form a strong contesting opposition. The action of the people shows that indeed the time is rite for Guyanese to get rid of the political ’massah’ that is forever keeping us back. Presently, Guyana is being governed by extreme corruption and it’s compulsory for you to be corrupted if you want to get anywhere successful in Guyana. Any opposition is being labeled as corrupted, whilst they continues to ensure Guyana remains ruined!
Regards,
Sahadeo Bates
