Kaieteur News- Dem boys seh is not de elections date dat shock people — is how early dem hear it! De President decide to be transparent and forward-thinking, and so at de flag-raisingm he open he mouth and seh bold-bold: “General and Regional Elections will be held on 1st December, 2025.”
Well, dem boys seh de man in de red shirt nearly collapse right there pon de spot. He eye pop open like pressure pot cover. December? He done know dat was wrong. He body start fuh twitch like de light flickerin’ in GECOM building.
De man panic. He stand up immediately but he could not stand still. He hand flap like he tryin’ fuh chase mosquito, but really he just didn’t know how fuh signal de President dat de date wrong.
Dem boys seh de poor man look like fish outta water. Mouth open, words nah come. He was hopin’ de President would catch on, but de big man keep talkin’ smooth-smooth, like everything normal. Meanwhile, Red Shirt Man was sweatin’ .
Thankfully, somebody lean in and whisper somethin’ — and de President pause, smile, and correct heself: “Sorry, I meant 1st September, 2025.”
Just like dat, de Red Shirt Man exhale all he anxiety. Is like de weight of a whole budget come off he shoulders. He straighten up and adjust he shirt, but dem boys done see de near meltdown.
Three months advance notice still shockin’ fuh Guyana. Usually elections spring up like pothole after rainfall — sudden and disruptive. But now people got time fuh prepare, sufficient time to campaign and register, and even wash dem party jersey.
Dem boys seh from now on, Red Shirt Man gon carry whiteboard and marker — just in case he need fuh write out de correction before he lose he mind again.
Talk half. Leff half

(Kaieteur News) – My position on Hon Minister of Public Works, Juan Edghill relative to the MV Barima tragedy is well known.
