Kaieteur News- A 28-year-old man was arrested by police on Wednesday after he allegedly shot a man dead at Norton Street, Bagotstown, East Bank Demerara (EBD).
Dead is Mark Anthony Benjamin, a 37-year-old who resided at Bagotstown, EBD. The arrested man has been identified as Hosea Fraser, also known as Hosea Selmon, a resident of Norton Street, Bagotstown.
Fraser was arrested at about 02:45h.
Preliminary investigations reveal that the victim and the suspect were known to each other, and they had an altercation, which led to the suspect shooting the victim to his head, thereafter, making good his escape.
The victim was pronounced dead, and his body is currently at the Memorial Gardens Mortuary awaiting post mortem examination.
