2025 CWI Rising Stars Regional Under-15 Championship Round 5…Guyana vs. Barbados
Kaieteur Sports- Guyana and Barbados will do battle today at the Coolidge Cricket Ground, Antigua with both teams looking to cement the number one spot with this year’s championship title in hand by the time dust settles in this year’s competition.
Today’s match features the number one ranked team heading into round 5, the unbeaten Barbados with 21. 6 points, looking to edge past the second place Guyana.
The Guyanese have been sublime, winning three of their four games and occupy the second spot with 17.4 points and could likely topple the Bajans if they apply themselves properly to accumulate the additional points from their various bowling options.
While a crushing win could hand Guyana this year’s title, they will need something special from their talented lineup which includes second leading run-scorer in the competition, Lomar Seecharran.
The opener sits on an aggregate of 127 runs while skipper Richard Ramdehol (123 runs) could also make a jump, in pursuit of the number one spot held by one of today’s opponents, Kelania Clarke (199 runs).
All-rounder Reyad Latif will want to finish as the leading wicket-taker, having dominated the season as the leading bowler with 12 wickets.
Latif could also finish the tournament nicely with the bat as he will be looking to add to his existing tally of 82, putting him in a small category of players to do well in both departments.
Guyana will also want a nice finish from some of their bright stars in pacer Patrice Fraser, In-form opener Justin Dowlin and others who have been among the contributors to the team’s success as they seek to get the better of their opponents today. (CR)
