Region one man remanded for rape, sentenced for escaping lawful custody
Kaieteur News- A 39-year-old chainsaw operator was on Thursday sentenced to 12 months for escaping lawful custody, and remanded for rape and sexual activity with a child (family member).

Richard Domingo, of White-Water, North-West District, Region one, appeared via Zoom before Magistrate Clive Nurse.
Domingo was charged for allegedly raping a 25-year-old female between November 1, 2016 and November 30, 2017 in the same region. He was also charged with sexual activity with a child (family member) between August 1, 2012 and August 30, 2013.
Additionally, Domingo allegedly escaped from lawful custody from the Mabaruma Police Station on February 11, 2025.
He pleaded guilty to the offence of escaping lawful custody and was not allowed to plead on the other two offences.
His case was adjourned to May 20, 2025.
