Kaieteur News- A laborer and landscaper were remanded to prison on Monday after pleading not guilty to a robbery under arms charge.
The defendants, 20-year-old Joshua Kreig of Lot 57 ‘T’ Bent Street, Georgetown, and 34-year-old Navin Camacho of Pigeon Island, East Coast Demerara (ECD), appeared at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court before Senior Magistrate Fabayo Azore. Kreig and Camacho allegedly used a knife to rob a Chinese national, Can Ming Su, of $25,000 cash and a car remote control worth $35,000; a total value of $60,000.
The incident occurred on March 26, 2025 at Robb Street, Bourda, Georgetown.
The prosecution objected to bail, noting the nature and seriousness of the offence as well as the long-lasting mental impact it will have on the victim.
The duo will return to court on April 14, 2025.
