Kaieteur News – Police in Region Seven are currently in search of a man from Bartica, who is accused of raping a 20-year-old woman in the Upper Cuyuni River area on Friday.
According to the Police, the victim reported to them that she is familiar with the suspect and that on June 30th, at about 18:00 hrs, the suspect invited and took her to Sixth Avenue Beach at Bartica, where they hung out.
She further reported that it started to rain which caused them to seek shelter in his motorcar. The woman reportedly told police that the suspect forcefully took off her clothes without her consent and had unprotected sex with her against her will for about four minutes.
According to her, the suspect then dropped her home, where she related the ordeal to a friend who advised her to make a report to the police.
