– Kevin Joseph U23 Tournament resumes this weekend
Kaieteur News – After securing back-to-back wins when the Kevin Joseph U23 basketball Championship opened last weekend, Kid Rock Blazers are hoping to keep their perfect record intact when the competition resumes this evening at the Retrieve Hard Court in Linden.
In the opening game tonight from 6:00 pm, Sixers will see their first action in the tournament when they battle Block 22 Flames, who are hoping to grab their first win.
The Block 22 unit had their flames outed by Kid Rock Blacks on the opening weekend, going down 40 – 52 to the pre-tournament favourites.
Kid Rock will face a feeble-looking Kings team in the night’s second game of the doubleheader with all intentions of going 3 – 0.
The Kid Rock Blazers’ other win in the tournament came over a robust Victory Valley Royals team, whom they defeated 51-48 in an entertaining contest.
Meanwhile, on Sunday, April 2, the tournament will host another double-header starting from 6:00 pm when Block 22 Flames play the Kings and Sixers take on Retrieve Raiders. (Rawle Toney)
