Stable owners across Guyana are continuing to import thoroughbreds from abroad to ensure their chances of winning the prestigious Guyana Cup are even greater. The momentum continues to rise for the biggest horseracing event in the history of Guyana carded for Sunday 14th August, 2022.
Two popular racing stables, Night Eyes Racing Stable and Kris Jagdeo Racing have both imported horses that arrived in Guyana at approximately 2:00pm yesterday, Monday 18th July 2022.
Arriving via air stables six horses made their way onto Guyana soil to take the total amount imported to 40. After the air stables were towed to the offloading area the six horses were offloaded and ushered to a moderate trot, “slow and steady” by the various groomers. The four horses that arrived specifically for Night Eyes Stable were, “Jessica’s Pride formally Yolandas Pride (5 year old dark bay filly), Arianas Pride formally Mizbaving Sis (3 year old bay filly), Giants princess (2 year old Chestnut filly) and Immortal Fame (4 year old bay gelding) all in immaculate shape. The remaining two horses to be cleared by members of the Kris Jagdeo Racing Stable were, “Wild Texas Tom (4 year old bay gelding) and Our Stuie (4 year old bay gelding).
Prior to this shipment Rising Sun Racing Stable shipped four horses from Trinidad that has put his stable in solid grounds to take home a win. The horses that were cleared were Oie Mon Omie, Liltoribelle-Amicable, Summer Breeze & Signal Note. Fazal Habibulla has been tight lipped on his imports as he has a few tricks up his sleeve to take the title home.
When contacted Mr. Habibulla indicated, “I have built this Racing Track from the ground up and as a resident of the area I am proud to have this event on my door steps. This is a humble village 76 kilometres from Georgetown bordering the Atlantic Ocean to the north and the Abary River to the south. So for an event of this size to come home definitely makes me proud. The competition indeed will be very hard as all of the stables are going the extra mile to ensure they all take home a trophy. My jockeys are ready and the horses are training daily to make this event a truly memorable one. So all I can say is come Sunday 14th August may the best horses win.”
The countdown has begun to the biggest Horse Racing Event in the Caribbean carded for Sunday 14th August at the Rising Sun turf Club. Over GUY$30,000,000 in cash and prizes are to be won, so this year’s the competition is expected to be stiff.
The organisers are encouraging patrons, ‘Get there before noon to avoid the rush and remember indoor parking is available for over 500 cars. Let’s all join together for this spectacular presentation, Guyana Cup 2022!’
