Mohammed half century hands Queenstown U19 8-wkt win
Kaieteur News – An unbeaten half century from Azim Mohamed handed host Queenstown U19 an eight-wicket victory over Essequibo Eagles when the Devon Ramnauth T20 youth cricket league continued recently on the Essequibo Coast.
Batting first, Essequibo Eagles made 124-5. Sheldon Charles made 44 and Lance Roberts 35 not out. Seon Glasgow had 2-16. Queenstown U19 responded with 125-2 in 19.4 overs. Mohammed struck 56 not out to earn the man-of-the-match award and Ameer Singh got 35.
In another fixture, Rising Stars Spartans beat United Warriors by four runs. United Warriors took first strike and scored 134. T. Bacchus made 39 and Siphion Corbin 33.
Spartans responded with 130; B. Khan got 43 as man-of-the-match Benny Persaud took 3-19.
In other fixtures, Spartans made 73 all out batting first. Mahendra Basdeo got 25. Vikings were bowled out for 42 in reply. Jouash Charles took 3-3. Man-of-the- Match was Mahendra Basdeo.
United Warriors scored 59 all out in 13.3 overs. A. Beharry took 3-19. Hustlers responded with 60 without loss in 7.4 overs. Udarsheva Balgobin scored 42. Man-of-the-Match was Udarsheva Balgobin.
