Kaieteur News- Two men suspected to be serial robbers, were yesterday nabbed with stolen cash in a house located at Charity Housing Scheme, Essequibo Coast, Region Two.
According to police, they received a tip off of the men’s whereabouts and headed to the location, to search their home. Police found a total of $356,000 cash along with some clothing.
It is believed the men stole the money from a salesman attached to Suri Trading and two Chinese nationals. They were arrested and taken the Charity Police Station, where they remain custody.
On Thursday, the salesman of Suri Trading, Christopher Harricharan, 43, reported that, he was approached by two men around 18:45 hrs., in the vicinity of Plantation Opposite, Essequibo Coast. The men reportedly assaulted him and robbed him of a gold ring worth $130,000 and $280,000 in cash.
The Chinese nationals, Steve Sue, 41, a businessman and Yu Rong Cao, 37, his business partner, were robbed the following day around 11:00 hrs. Sue and Cao were at Charity, when two masked men pounced on them, and robbed them of an Iphone valued $120,000 and $80,000 cash.
