Kaieteur News- Businesses situated in the county of Berbice would now have access to accounting and other professional services. On January 8, 2021 last, the Berbice branch of Chateram Ramdihal Chartered Accountants, Professional Services Firm was launched at Outback Adventures, Canje. Its office is located at 14-30 Pitt Street, New Amsterdam, Berbice.
The accounting firm was established in October 2015. It is managed by Partner and Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Chateram Ramdihal, a Chartered Accountant with 17 years of experience in the accounting and auditing profession. Mr. Ramdihal’s professional experience includes working with the government, including the Auditor General’s Office. He has worked as the Finance and Ticketing Manager for Guyana World Cup Inc. and has also spent years working at other accounting firms. Recently, he was electe
d President to oversee this year’s affairs at the Institute of Internal Auditors (Guyana) Chapter.
Present at the launch were businessmen and businesswomen from across Regions Five and Six. In his speech, Mr. Ramdihal expressed the desire to give back to his home county – Berbice. He sees this as not only an opportunity for persons residing in Berbice to enjoy the services the firm has to offer but also as a way to create job opportunities in the long run for those who wish to pursue accounting and auditing.
In sharing his experience, he related the perspective of businessmen and businesswomen when it comes to accounting. “They do not see it as essential or important,” he said, adding that he could understand why, as “they see accounting as a service which does not create a product that brings in revenue but instead it is viewed as a function that will cost the company unnecessary amounts of money.”
But according to Ramdihal, “it does not only cost the company but if done right it can result in more sales, hence, more revenue and more profit.”
Accounting, he pointed out, is even viewed by some businesses as what is needed just to satisfy the Guyana Revenue Authority. However, Ramdihal added, “if this is a business view on accounting, then they are missing out on increasing their profits because accounting gives businesses so much more information which would help in the maximization of profits.”
The firm comprises of Chartered Accountants and other professional personnel with a distinct focus on the desire to provide the highest quality professional services that adds value to each of its client’s business. These professionals have a combination of over 100 years of experience in the field of Accounting, Auditing, Taxation, Legal, Engineering, Training and Management Consultancy.
The company’s main office is conveniently located at 25 Craig Street and Delph Avenue, Campbellville, Georgetown. Spreading its wings in January 2016, the firm entered into a joint venture with Haynes Inc. to form Ramdihal and Haynes Inc. Haynes Inc. is a Washington D.C. based management consulting firm that specializes in accounting transactions, process improvement, information technology and network support.
To add to the expansion of the firm, in January 2019 another joint venture was formed. This time, it was between the Caribbean Institute of Forensic Accounting (CIFA) which resulted in the formation of the Caribbean Institute of Forensic Accounting (Guyana) Inc. This joint venture will enable CIFA Guyana to provide services in the field of forensic auditing and accounting, fraud auditing, asset tracing and recovery, investigations, due diligence, procurement audits, document examination, process re-engineering, computer forensics and data recovery, contract compliance auditing, anti-money laundering compliance services, fraud risk and loss management and forensic and anti-fraud training.
“Our service line includes Audit and Review Engagements, Tax Advisory and Compliance Services, Accounting and Payroll, Corporate Services, Management Consulting and Forensic Accounting,” Ramdihal shared.
