DEAR SIR,
Republic Bank (Guyana) Limited has recently implemented a menu of measures that significantly impact the delivery of financial services to its consumers.
During the Republic Bank (Guyana) Limited’s October 23, 2019 Internet Banking Demonstration at the Marriott Hotel, its facilitators – under interrogation – all conceded that a configuration permitting a single online-banking Site Administrator to act alone presents a greater risk than that which requires at least two (2) online-banking Site Administrators to function jointly. Notwithstanding, the bank has not allowed the second configuration.
Understanding that your office is vested with regulatory authority over Guyana’s financial sector, I humbly request that you require the Republic Bank (Guyana) Limited to avail interested consumers the choice between permitting a single online-banking Site Administrator to act alone, and that requiring at least two (2) online-banking Site Administrators to function jointly.
With warmest regards,
Gavin A. L. Houston
