To herald the Christmas season Courts Guyana once again celebrated an amazing ‘Christmas Tree Light-up’.
The most anticipated event leading up to the Christmas season saw a huge turnout as parents, guardians and most of all the children filled Main Street, Georgetown, awaiting the arrival of Santa and company.
The event which was held in front of the Courts main branch began around 17:30hrs. The programme consisted of dances, singing, poetry; sweets being shared out to the kids, the lighting of the trees and the arrival of Santa Claus. The performances had the crowd screaming with excitement, jumping and singing along to the tunes they knew.
Country Director, Clyde de Haas, and other officials from the Courts Guyana Incorporated were all there.
With the aid of the children as they counted down to the light up, Main Street was transformed into a halo of lights which created the platform for the Christmas spirit.
The most anticipated part of the night, the arrival of Santa Claus along with Mrs. Claus, Black Panther, Dora, Spiderman, Mickey Mouse and Minie Mouse, saw the crowd erupting. The kids waved and screamed hoping to draw the Christmas gang’s attention to them.
Dancing and cheering to Mariah Carey’s ‘Santa is coming to town’, they closed the event. Many left with a big smile and cheer in their heart.
