Brazilian nationals fined $30k each for illegal entry, deportation ordered

(Kaieteur News) – Franscio Lopes, 47 and Junior Condrad, 32, both Brazilian nationals of Boa Vista, Roraima, Brazil, were on Tuesday charged with illegal entry.
They were charged with the offence of entering Guyana by crossing a land frontier and without forthwith presenting themselves to the nearest Immigration Officer, contrary to Section 34(1)(b) of the Immigration Act, Chapter 14:02.
The men appeared at the Lethem Magistrate’s Court before Magistrate Omadatt Chandan, where the charge was read to them and both pleaded guilty.
They were each fined $30,000 and their immediate deportation was ordered.
