The third National Sports Commission (NSC) annual two-day Special Needs Schools sports concluded Saturday with swimming at the Colgrain pool and Athletics at the GDF after the first day featured team Sports for the first time at the National Gymnasium.
Saturday at the Colgrain Pool there was a 25-yard aquatic walk for Physically Challenged with Male and female being merged as there were many no-shows.
There was a 25-yard kickboard event for 15-&-Under male and female which was also merged and a 25-yard backstroke Open for male and females for the Intellectually disabled or ‘slow learners’ and it was a day of fun for physically and intellectually challenged children.
At the GDF ground a large gathering of parents and teachers turned out to cheer the youngsters on and after delivering his address Director of Sports Christopher Jones participated in a 100-meters race with the excited children. (Sean Devers)
