Dear Editor,
The Amerindian Action Movement of Guyana (TAAMOG) wishes to extend congratulations to the Guyana Forestry Commission (GFC) for scoring the Lowest Dforestation rate of 0.0489. This is another major achievement in the sustainable management of Guyana’s forests and the GFC ought to be complimented, particularly its management and safe in Guyana’s Redd+ process and the monitoring reporting and verification system (MRVS). TAAMOG takes this opportunity to appeal to the government of Guyana (GOG) to quickly formulate a new agreement with the Republic of Norway so as to bring about Guyana’s Green State Development Strategy (GSDS) which in TAAMOG’s opinion has suffered from an abortion. It is time that Guyana stop paying lip service to a green economy and climate change.
Yours Sincerely,
Peter Persaud
