Dear Editor,
The Fort Island residents of Region Three ( Essequibo Islands- West Demerara) all claim that they will not be sending back their children to the Fort Island primary school because of allegations that a known female school teacher engages in commercial sex activities at the teachers quarters on the Island.
The residents of Fort Island are highly concerned over the education of their children and are calling on the Chief Education Officer (CEO) of the Ministry of Education (MOE) to conduct urgent investigations and to have the mentioned school teacher face disciplinary actions including her immediate removal from the Fort Island primary school in the interests of decency and good management of the said school.
Calls to the Regional Education Officer (REDO) were not answered.
Yours Sincerely,
Peter Persaud
