Gafson’s Industries on board with PM Cup T20 Softball tourney

Gafson’s Industries Ltd has jumped on board as the latest company to offer sponsorship for the Georgetown Softball Cricket League Incorporated (GSCL) in collaboration with the National Sports Commission (NSC) and the Ministry of Education Department of Culture, Youth and Sports Prime Minister T/20 Softball tournament.
Mr. Phillip Ross from Gafson’s Industries handed over the sponsorship cheque to Treasurer of the GSCL Russel Jadbeer at the Seafort Street office of Regal Stationary and Office Supplies.
Teams from Canada, Guyana and New York will be participating in the inaugural three day tournament which runs from October 27-29.
Matches are set for Everest, Police, DCC, GNIC, MSC and GYO with the finals fixed for October 29 at Everest when the Masters final will be played from 10:00hrs before the All Stars final is contested. A Ladies game will also be played under lights from 18:00hrs.
The All-star winners will take home $600,000 in prize money and the runners-up will be awarded $100,000 along with trophies and medals as well as a 50-inch television.
The Masters will win $500,000 and the runners-up in that division will receive $100,000 along with trophies and medals
The MVP of the All-Stars will get a Hero Motor Cycle with the Masters’ MVP collecting a 52 inch Smart Television.
At the launching of the tournament, Prime Minister Mosses Nagamootoo donated $300,000 for special prizes during what should be a keenly contested tournament.
Banks DIH, Hero Motor Cycles, Regal Stationary and Computer Centre, Regal Sports, C Mohan General Contracting, Crown Mining Supplies, Elegancy Jewellery & Pawn Shop, Ink Plus, Industrial Safety Supplies, P&P Insurance Brokers & Consultants, Star Party Rentals, Pyeo General Store (Pameroon), Clear Waters, Chung’s Global Enterprise, Gafson’s Industrial Limited, WJ Enterprise and Lucke Star have all confirmed sponsorship.
According to the organisers, teams will not have to pay to enter the Tournament nor spectators to gain entry to venues for any of the games including the finals, while GSCL will stand the cost for balls, water and Umpire’s fees. Teams are asked to walk with their Lunch.
