Dear Editor,
MP Harry Gill has beguiled the media houses and Nurse Sheriyn Marks to score political points for himself and the PPP/C and used both to his advantage in the Carol Joseph medical issue. His manipulation is baseless because the medical history of the patient Carol Joseph and the various surgeries of Carol Joseph are strictly confidential from the various private hospitals. Her medical procedures also remain confidential. Also psychological treatment from Government Institutions for her physical illness over the years remains confidential.
Harry Gill’s letters to the media is filled with venom about the patient’s physical illness which contains no factual medical assessment to prove otherwise about the patient’s conditions from the private hospitals and Government-employed doctors and that they have prescribed any overdose. And also if the patient is addicted to the prescribed drugs she is using for her illness. These also include other type of pain killers.
To date I can safely say as I write this letter the patient is still very sick but is improving and is being treated for her medical illness. As for nurse Sheriyn Marks; is she qualified to question prescriptions from doctors, not knowing all the patient’s medical records? If all the nurses should take this direction then all our doctors are now questionable.
I find Harry Gill’s Machiavellian style very devious and without any mercy to use Carol Joseph’s condition or anyone’s poor health and infirmity to gain political points. I truly believe that the PPP/C leadership is at an all time low and Harry Gill should have asked his other comrade Dr. Behri Ramsaran for guidance in ascertaining if the usage of 100mg of Pethidine constitutes and overdose per day? And I am seeking a reply from a medical doctor not from a Computer Graphic Designer. Isn’t Harry Gill qualified in that field?
