Twenty five youths from Bartica recently completed a six month Board of Industrial Training (BIT) in collaboration with the Ministry of Social Protection.
Heavy Duty Equipment Operator Officer, Earl Pestano stated that five females have already registered for the next programme, which is set to start this month.
The youths were trained specifically in the Heavy Duty Equipment Operation.
Deputy Mayor of Bartica Kamala Persaud explained to the graduates that they should not take the opportunity for granted because very soon the town will need the skills that they have acquired.

Minister within the Ministry of Social Protection Keith Scott, while addressing the graduates, said that they are now equipped with the skills needed to further develop their community.
Scott stressed that when one is trained, one must be able to train others and in that way everyone will be trained and better equipped.
