After some amount of uncertainty, the third annual Guyana Cup rematch horserace meet is definitely on for February 26th.
The event is organised by the Jumbo Jet Auto Sales and Racing stable in collaboration with the Rising Sun Turf Club and is slated for the Rising Sun Turf Club, Arima Park, West Coast, Berbice.
Meanwhile, the organisers have released the full list of events to be contested.
Eight races are listed on the programme with over $7M up for grab.
The feature event is for animals classified D2 and lower over 1800M for a winning purse of $1M and trophy with most of the top horses in the country expected to feature. Horses such as CP Got Even, Score Even, Just Call Me Boss, Princess She is not, Spit Fire, Jack in My Style, Golden Blue Ecko, Lady Budapest and Light up Canada among others will be in the running for the top prize.
With horse owners in mind, the organisers have structured the events with everyone in mind.
The other events listed on the days programme will see an event for horses classified E1 and lower West Indies bred non earners for 2016 and E3 US and Canadian bred none earners for 2016. That event will see the winners collecting $600,000 and trophy over 1400M.
There is an even for 4 years old West Indies Bred and animals classified G3 and lower. The horses will be running for a winning pocket of $300,000 and trophy over 1400M.
The event for horses classified H and lower for a winning take of $275,000 and trophy over 1100M.
The 3 years old West Indies bred and I1 and lower horses will race over 1400M for a first prize of $225,000 and trophy.
There is an 1100M event for three year old West Indies bred horses, maiden animals for $180,000.
The J2 and K class event has its first prize tagged at $175,000 and trophy over 1100M.
The animals classified L and lower will compete for the winning pocket of $130,000 and trophy over 1100M.
The top Jockey along with the runner up, the top stable and champion trainer will all be presented with trophies and other incentives compliments of the Trophy Stall of Bourda Market and the organisers.
Entries are expected to be closed on Sunday 19th February.
