Fire destroys house at Ogle
(Kaieteur News) – A fire on Sunday night destroyed a two-storey house and partially damaged another property located opposite the Ogle Masjid, East Coast Demerara (ECD).
Reports are that the fire was observed shortly after nearby residents heard a loud explosion.
“Around 22:35 hrs, I was sitting outside because it had a blackout and we heard a loud explosion. When we looked up the road, we saw smoke,” one resident recalled.

The Guyana Fire and Rescue Service was called to the scene, with three fire tenders responding.
Firefighters were able to contain the blaze and prevent it from spreading to nearby properties.
The destroyed building reportedly housed a wash bay and an auto body works shop.
Investigations into the cause of the fire are ongoing.
