A construction worker was yesterday remanded to prison for allegedly stabbing his friend with a knife, when he appeared before Magistrate Fabayo Azore in the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court.
It is alleged that on September 16, at Yarrow Dam Ruimveldt, Robin Charan unlawfully and maliciously wounded Davenand Chetram, so as to cause him actual bodily harm.
The defendant pleaded not guilty to the charges and will make his next court appearance on October 10.
The Police Prosecutor said that Charan, a construction worker, assaulted Chetram. The prosecutor also said that stab wounds were inflicted to the virtual complainant’s (VC) left side with a knife.
The VC is still hospitalised.
