Mrs. Ameena Gafoor, the wife of business mogul, Sattaur Gafoor, yesterday handed over the keys to houses for two less fortunate families on behalf of the Gafoor Foundation.

Oliver Kerr, who is visually impaired and fends for himself, is now the owner of a two-bedroom house in Sophia, Greater Georgetown, Kerr a father of two had a plot of land in Sophia. As a result, he reached out to the Gafoor Foundation for assistance in constructing a house.
Mrs. Gafoor stated that because of Kerr’s disability and his genuine need, The Gafoor Foundation decided to build a house for him. She noted that they will also furnish the house.
At Schoonord, West Bank Demerara, Mrs. Bibi Fareeza Ramjit also benefitted from The Gafoor Foundation’s generosity; she was presented with a two-bedroom house. Ramjit is an ailing widow who has to raise her three young grandchildren single handedly.
The estimated cost of each house is in the vicinity of $4.5 million. Mrs. Gafoor noted that the Gafoor Foundation was created to provide assistance to the less unfortunate.
