Cyclist in Berbice will have another opportunity on Saturday to test their skill and fitness. The occasion will be the Fyrish, Gibraltar, Courtland, No.1 Association Incorporated sixth anniversary cycling event in collaboration with the Flying Ace Cycling Club (FACC).
The event, which is sponsored by the overseas organization, is part of their week of activities and is open to cyclist in Berbice only and will see the best wheelers in the country in action.
The race is expected to roll off around 09:00 hrs from in front of the Benjamin Sports Store at Fyrish, proceeded to New Amsterdam, turn back at Esplanade Road before heading back to Fyrish to finish at its point of origin, covering a distance of 20 miles.
A number of prizes are up for grabs including for the first four finishers, the first three U16 riders and the first female. They will all be presented with trophies. There will also be six prime point prizes up for grabs.
Mrs. Sita Nagamootoo, wife of Prime Minister Moses Nagamootoo, is expected to be on hand to send the cyclists on their way and present the prizes.
