in the Trinidad Cement Limited (TCL) Sports and Social Club in collaboration with CEMCU Credit Union 6km Road Race on Saturday.
Johnson finished in 20:34 while team-mate D’Andrade ran 20:43 and Trinidadian, Illey Bruce 21:39 in that order at Point-a-Perre, Trinidad. “I felt better than last week. However, I am still experiencing some cramps during my races,” D’Andrade said yesterday.
“I have been training hard and wanted to close off the year with a bang; the same way I started with my win in Suriname in January. Johnson edged me out, so I had to settle for second place. I have closed the season with 43 races this year,” he noted.
According to D’Andrade, it has been an “up and down” year for him. He said that he is looking forward to the New Year with “a new strategy”. The TCL 6km race had 300 participants and all the proceeds from the race will go towards a Children’s Home for the Christmas Season.
