Miner killed in row over a pack of cigarettes
Police are probing yet another murder in Guyana’s interior, this time it is that of Quincy Jones, who was stabbed to death two nights ago over a pack of cigarettes
Police in a statement yesterday said that at about 21:00 hours on Saturday, Jones was imbibing when he became involved in an argument with another man over a pack of cigarettes in a shop at Honey Camp, Issano, Mazaruni River.
During the argument Jones was stabbed to his chest.
He collapsed and was subsequently taken to the Bartica Hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival.
Police say that the suspect has been arrested and is assisting with investigations.
