The final of the Super 6 Football tournament at the Bartica Community Centre, which was set for last evening, has been rescheduled to Thursday, New Year’s Day in the Mining Community.
The event which is coordinated by I Salaam has been sponsored by Whitter Aka ‘Plain man’ Mining, Hopkinson Mining and Miles Jones Mining.
It started out with Beacons, Rising Stars, Wolves United, Milballers, Riverview and Potaro Strikers. When the dust had settled, Beacons were down to challenge Riverview for the title with Potaro Strikers battling Milballers in the third place playoff.
The winner of the final collide for a first prize of $200,000, the second prize is $100,000 and third $50,000.
Heavy rain in Bartica yesterday forced the organisors to reframe the final for Thursday from 6:30pm.
