Members of the Barbados U16 team landed in Guyana ahead of today’s opening round battle versus the Guyanese.
Kaieteur Sports – Guyana will look to open the 2026 CWI Rising Stars Under-16 Men’s 50-Over Tournament, with a win when they face Barbados as part of today’s triple header which bowls off across the Caribbean today.
Played under a new, revised bilateral series format, teams will compete in a 3 concurrent 5-match bilateral brawl, spread across host territories Guyana, Antigua and Jamaica.
Today’s opening round will feature the Lomar Seecharran-led Guyana team battling an equally strong Barbados unit at Lusignan Cricket Ground, with the stakes playing at home being higher than ever.
In the other matches, Leeward Islands will play Windward Islands over at the Coolidge Cricket Ground, in Antigua, with Jamaica tackling Trinidad and Tobago at the Melbourne Park in Kingston, Jamaica.
Seecharran and his men have a good chance at shining during this competition, given the immense talent and the skill which his men possess.
Much responsibility will be on the shoulders of young stars like Brandon Grimmond, Makai Dowlin, Leon Reddy, Jaydan Ganpat, Nathan Bishop and others; who have been staking their claim as the next batch of rising stars for Guyana.
All matches are expected to bowl off from 9:30h, with one eye especially trained on the Guyana match following torrential rains which have plagued the country over the past few days. (Clifton Ross)

(Kaieteur News) – There is no question that Guyanese would have noticed the brooch worn by Delcy Rodríguez during her recent visits to Grenada and Barbados.
