incident last Wednesday.
Eon Ford, the accused, allegedly stabbed Joseph Adams in the stomach and face during an altercation in the vicinity of the Bourda Market. He appeared before Magistrate Fabayo Azore at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court.
It is alleged that on October 8, last, Ford and Adams were consuming alcohol at the Bourda Market on Robb Street, when they had a misunderstanding.
The court was told that Forde retrieved a knife from his stall and slashed Adams on his face. When the injured man attempted to escape on a bicycle, Ford allegedly pursed Adams, stabbing him in his hand and stomach. The victim was rushed and admitted to the Georgetown Public Hospital (GPHC).
The defendant was represented by Attorney-at-Law Mark Conway. The Attorney applied for bail and said that his client is 45-years-old, has a fixed place of abode at Lot 90, Robb Street, is a father of five and makes an honest living by selling ‘greens’.
Prosecutor, Kerry Bostwick objected to bail.
However, Conway said that Ford and Adams are close friends and that this was just an unfortunate altercation. He further stated that Ford should be granted bail, since he didn’t see how that would affect the Prosecution’s case.
Magistrate Azore refused bail and the matter was transferred to Court Three for next Monday.
