The Trinidad and Tobago-based Guyanese distance running duo, Kelvin Johnson and Lionel D’Andrade topped the Rio Claro Centenary 20km race on Monday. Johnson won the race in 1:30:48 with D’Andrade placing second in 1:33:00. Trinidad’s Curtis Cox (1:38:23) was third.
The Guyanese athletes told Kaieteur Sport from Trinidad yesterday that the course was hilly and tough but they were happy to once again rule the roost. They said that they are preparing for the upcoming Venture Credit Union 5Km Road Race.
