Geotextile tubes to shore up sea defences in Region Four
Under the Ministry of Public Works, bids were submitted for the installation of Geotextile Tubes (Geotubes) to form Groynes along Georgetown Sea Defences, Region Four.
A geotextile tube is use in combating coastal erosion. The tubes will act as a breakwater to mitigate coastal erosion in the village where mangroves are being restored and need to be protected.
