Mr. Glenn Lall and Mr. Charles L. Griffith recently held discussions in the office of Ms. Yvette Clarke pertaining to the President Bharrat Jagdeo’s granting to his political associates, family and friends 15 radio and cable frequencies, and none to the established media houses that do not share his ideological views.
Kaieteur News Publisher Glen Lall (Centre) and GMPA’s Charles Griffith meet New York Congresswoman Yvette Clarke during a recent visit to the USA.
Ms Yvette Clarke is a New York Congresswoman.
During the discussion, both Lall and Griffith, two members of the Guyana Media Proprietors Association (GMPA) which is a non-governmental organization (NGO), took the opportunity to reference the GMPA proposed tolerance and harmony project submitted to USAID in 2011.
Surprisingly, this document was bypassed by USAID, given the USA universal standing on Democratic Governance, observance of the rule of law and the Carter Center involvement in the 1992 General Elections in Guyana.
