A fine half century by opener Andrew Lyght Jnr. guided host DCC to 92-2 against GDF at close of play on the first day of the Georgetown Cricket Association\Hadi’s first division two-day competition which continued yesterday with three matches.
In a match which started late due to overnight rain, DCC lost Jamal Hinckson without scoring and Jahron Byron for 22 before Lyght crafted an unbeaten 65 to see them to the close after 25 overs.
With him is Christopher Barnwell who is yet to get off the mark. Dillon Heyliger and Gilford Moore are the wicket takers for GDF so far.
At Everest, the host reached 160-5 at stumps after taking first strike. First class batsman Chanderpaul Hemraj is not out on 55 and Troy Gonsalves undefeated on 51. Ryan Shun has so taken 2 wickets for GNIC.
At GCC, Transport batting first after the game started late due to rain were reduced to 78-7 after 37 overs. Carl Rambharose scored 29 while Ryan Hemraj is unbeaten on 25. Leon Johnson grabbed 4-31 and Almando Doman 2-11. The game ends today.
