Berbice name Cellink 14-man squad for GTM U-19 Inter County tourney
The Berbice Cricket Board selectors met recently and named their 14-man squad to that will participate in this year’s GTM Under-19 Inter County three-Day tournament which is scheduled to start on Monday at the National Stadium.
Former Guyana Under-15 Captain Shawn Pereira was appointed to lead the squad with Guyana Under-19 batsman Joemal La Fleur as his deputy.
Another Guyana Under-19 cricketer Dominique Rikhi is also in the squad as well as Loyydel Lewis, Clinton Pestano, Andy Mohan, Kelvin Leitch and Kevin Ramdeen who all represented Berbice at this level last year.
Also named were former Guyana Under-15 cricketers Jamally Odle, Romario De Jonge, Veerapen Permaul and Gudakesh Motie, Surujnarine Kandasammy and Linden Austin are former Berbice Under-15 cricketers.
The squad – Shawn Pereira, (Captain), Surujnarine Kandasammy, Joemal La Fleur (Vice Captain), Jamally Odle, Romario De Jonge, Andy Mohan (wk), Dominique Rikhi, Linden Austin, Veerapen Permaul, Kelvin Leitch, Gudakesh Motie, Kevin Ramdeen, Loyydel Lewis and Clinton Pestano.
Stand bys are Vidal Crandon, Waqar Hassan, Sasenarine Ernest, Sharmindra Hardyal, Parmanand Narine, Shailendra Shameer and Deshwani Prashad.
