Commissioner of Police Henry Greene was yesterday rushed to the Balwant Singh Hospital after he reportedly collapsed. This newspaper was told that the Commissioner was treated at the hospital and sent away.
Other senior ranks of the force declined to say exactly why the Commissioner had to be treated at the hospital.
In recent times the Commissioner had to be hospitalized for a suspected heart condition. Late last year Greene was rushed to the St Joseph Mercy Hospital and was later referred to the Caribbean Heart Institute after he was diagnosed with congestive heart failure.
Congestive heart failure is a condition in which the heart cannot pump enough blood to the other organs. This can result from narrowed arteries that supply blood to the heart muscle and lead to coronary artery disease and even high blood pressure.
