(Kaieteur News) – The National Toshaos Council (NTC) on Monday announced that the opening ceremony for the 2026 Toshaos Conference has been rescheduled for today.
In a notice, NTC advised all invited participants, stakeholders, members of the media, and the public that the official opening ceremony of the National Toshaos Council Conference 2026 will be held on 21st July at 10:00 a.m. at the Arthur Chung Conference Centre, Liliendaal, Georgetown.
The ceremony was initially scheduled for Monday morning, but was postponed in light of the tragic maritime incident involving the MV Barima off the coast of Region Two.
The NTC in its notice extended appreciation to all participants for their understanding and cooperation and looks forward to welcoming Toshaos and representatives from Indigenous communities across Guyana for the commencement of this important national gathering.
The NTC Conference is being held under the theme: “Empowering Leadership while Building Sustainable Village Economies through inclusive partnership.”
