Dear Editor,
I refer to this charade of having Dr. Ashni Singh act as Prime Minister.
First, I thank Mr. Christopher Ram for shedding some light through the extant maze of administrative darkness.
Second, I have the highest regard for Dr. Ashni Singh as an individual, a patriot and one of the few decent members of the “High Command”, it is therefore worrisome how could he have allowed himself to be caught in this ludicrous game of musical chairs conducted by our High Priests and Priestesses.
So in Parliament Chambers, while he is acting Prime Minister, we have the absurdity of Dr. Ashni Singh maintaining his seat near the end of the line in Parliament. Seating in Parliament is always significant – earlier known as the pecking order.
This matter like others raised by Christopher Ram may seem minor or even unimportant to some, but it is merely part of a wider display of arrogance and obtuseness by an administration that has shown little regard for protocol and care not for the difference between right and wrong, probity and corruption, morality and immorality.
My only hope is that, the young people of this country will read letters such as the one written by Christopher
Ram and begin to appreciate, irrespective of race, colour or creed that they need to step forward and save this nation state from the charlatans parading on the stage as leaders overseeing a decline in standards.
I will shortly deal with another ludicrous situation, where the Chairman of the Ethnic Relations Committee (ERC) is going to visit various parts of the country to deal with something that is well known, that is, those handsome contracts awarded to a small group, and the benefits to the beneficiaries.
We have exposed the Stanleytown Pump Station and the two contractors for one swimming pool – therefore the tip of the iceberg.
I want to bet the ERC and its chairman, an ounce of ‘Holy Water’ that years or months from now, nothing of substance will come out of those grand statements and costly visits; it will be business as usual.
The millions consumed on the ERC charade can build some roads and establish the office of the Ombudsman as is required by our Constitution.
Hamilton Green, J.P.
