From the time it hit the road, all eyes were glued to the float design of Edward B. Beharry in the Diwali Motorcade. Designer Andrew Arts made sure he followed the leadings of the company and produced a stunner that was sure to take the leading prize.
The Float was adjudged the winner in the commercial category and Andrew Arts walked away with the prize of Best Designer.
Andrew Arts made sure it held true to the manufacturer of the Chico, Indi and Champion range of products, but captured the glories of Mother Lakshmi sitting on the lotus flower in Kashasargar or the ocean of milk.
The float accurately portrayed various manifestations of the goddess. These included: Gaja Maa (Giver of animal and royalty wealth); Santhana Maa (Giver of offspring); Dhanya Maa (Giver of Agricultural wealth); Vijaya Maa (Giver of victory, not only in battles, but also the conquering hurdles in order to gain success); Veera Maa (Giver of courage and strength in battles and for overcoming difficulties in life); Ashwarya Maa (The goddess of riches); Adhi Maa (An ancient form of Lakshmi).
At the centre of the motorcade, suspended in the air and creatively executed was the final form of Asta Lakshmi.
Dhana Lakshmi is seen with six (6) arms which carry a chakra, Shankha, Kalasha or Amrita, Arrow / Bow, a lotus and an arm in Abhaya Mudra with gold coins falling from it. She was seen sitting with a giant life-like lotus flower beneath her which revolves as she floats through Kashasargar or the ocean of milk.
To the end of the motorcade everyone was spellbound by the creation of the mountain which ushers the pure flow of water into the fountain.
“This reminds us that the pure blessings of Lakshmi Mata are for us all to capture. The mountain disburses the water while the fountain erupts it just after, making us realize the true blessings of the Mother of Light,” said Hashim Ali, a representative of the company.
