Yesterday, as part of the La Bonne Intention Seventist Church, Light Bearers Master Guide Club’s first anniversary, an outreach programme was held at the Cheshire Home, Mahaica.
Yesterday’s activity was one of a series being held to celebrate the anniversary. Peter Ramchandar, Deputy Director of the Club, said that the club is not only focused on spirituality but also the holistic well-being of individuals.
He explained that knowing the history and works of the Cheshire Home they decided to lend a helping hand.
During the outreach the residents were presented with first aid and hygiene kits. They were also treated to dinner.
In addition, the other members of the club were allowed to interact with the residents who were more than overwhelmed to have visitors.
Also as part of the anniversary activities, the club held a mini dental fair in the LBI community. A clothes distribution exercise was also held at Corneila Ida, West Coast Demerara.
A similar exercise is expected to be held some time this week in LBI.
