Guyana’s Trinidad and Tobago (TT) International Marathon hopefuls, Kelvin Johnson and Lionel D’Andrade stayed on course for the event with consecutive podium finishes in the Twin Island Republic on Saturday.
The duo, who last weekend had finished second and third respectively in a 5km race that they used for preparation, continued in that vein in a similar order at the Trinidad and Tobago Unified Teachers Association (TTUTA) 10k.
Johnson ran 32:52.00 for second while D’Andrade was third in 32:55.00 in the race that Trinidad’s Curtis Cox won in 32:18.00 Saturday. The race formed part of their tuning up for this weekend’s Trinidad International Marathon.
Speaking to Kaieteur Sport yesterday, the two regionally renowned distance athletes said that they are comfortable with the results since winning was not part of their mission in a warm-up event for the Marathon race on Sunday.
