The National Milling Company Incorporated (NAMILCO) in an effort to aid in the strengthening of players ahead of the Second Annual Namilco Football Festival yesterday presented Wheat Up, one of its products to each of the 16 teams competing in the Festival.

Marketing Manager Damon Pestano made the presentation to the teams at the main competition venue, Tucville ground informing the teams that the product can be used as a kick-start to a perfect day on the field of play and is enriched with vitamins.
Each of the teams received 25 packets of the product and Pestano said he is confident that Wheat-Up will help to energise the players for on field battle.
Also present yesterday was President of organising club, Fruta Conquerors, Marlan Cole who disclosed that the Buxton United Football Club which was one of the 16 teams invited to compete will no longer be taking part.
They have been replaced by first choice standby, Flamingo of the Georgetown Football Association (GFA) who are currently second in the Banks Beer division one league.
Cole did not give reasons for Buxton United’s non participation but Kaieteur Sport understands that the club is demanding an appearance fee to participate.
Meanwhile, the competition is expected to kick off on Friday at the Tucville ground with a double header.
Defending champions Guyana Defense Force tangle with Bakewell Buxton Stars in the first game from 18:00hrs, the main clash brining together Pele and New Amsterdam United.
The winner of this competition will be $400,000 richer with the losing finalist pocketing $200,000.
