(Kaieteur News) – What to make of this America-Venezuela oil deal, this best in history? First, it’s best to put the 65 billion barrels of heavy crude in its proper place. It’s the Donny and Delcy Gong Show. A quarter of Venezuela’s premier national treasure, a concealed deal, a very shaky setup, executed when there was no moon. Only the PPP is absent from this development. Relook at what was just broadcast: national treasure, secret deal, shaky setup, that’s the PPP in Technicolor.

What’s fascinating to a peasant like me is that the U.S. speaks of law and order, and rule of law (has a Guyanese ring, doesn’t it?), and still cuts a huge oil deal with the Caracas Top Cat, Excellency Delcy Rodrigues, and with a man of means named Betancourt. Both have huge files at various American entities whose job is crime containment and law enforcement. Senor Betancourt is a man of many interests, and of interest. Like his Interim First Lady, he’s the beneficiary of an unofficial presidential reprieve. Whoever said that public service doesn’t pay had better get in on that joke. Ditto with that ditty about crime doesn’t prosper.

Closer to Guyana’s place in this new US-Venezuela contraption, I see a positive. With the U.S. and Venezuela now as tight as kissing cousins, the door could be opened for Exxon to explore fully Guyana’s Stabroek Block. Put differently, there are no off-limits waters. Two oil geese brought down and plucked with one well-aimed laser. Like the man said, the biggest and best deal in history. Of anything! Which Venezuelan hawk-admiral or general-is so daring to make his position (objection) public? It could be that was why Exxon’s Bossman, Mr. Darren Woods, spoke so earnestly and ecstatically about four new revolutionary oil finds in Guyana’s offshore Atlantis within grasp. This stew is getting thicker and richer daily.

On a different note, there is hope for We Invest in Nationhood, Mr. Azruddin Mohamed and kin. Look at it this way. When the Yankees set their sights on something, it usually ends up inside their fence. For decades, various U.S. presidents had their eyes on the Venezuelan oilfields. An American dealmaker and a Venezuelan pretender (a 12th woman) got it done. Did somebody say something about duress? Who cares? Why should that matter? Happens in the hallowed halls of the CCJ, therefore, it should be fair game in the halls of oil commerce. I think that Senora Delcy just became the frontrunner for the Nobel Prize in Economics. The Donald should snare the one in physics. He moved a mountain, made it come his way. In the instance of WIN Mohamed, the U.S. has some serious interest in what’s inside his head. If he has the goods on one farm, and one contract, he could have as much as a hundred more such farms, contracts, and real estate in his portfolio of secrets.

My advice to him is simple: give the Americans what they want, but extract the biggest returns for himself. In black and white. Witnessed. Stamped. Sealed and signed. I doubt that the PPP of Ali and Jagdeo (Nandlall, too) are too keen on letting the Americans that deep into their parlor. It’s why I have repeatedly gone out on a limb and warned them: think carefully about their Mohamed strategy. Take eyes off 2030-31. Focus on him, and keeping him here. Remember that verse of Mafia scripture: keep friends close, keep enemies (and former friends) closer. So close that they can’t breathe.

Last, I foresee an end to the Guyana-Venezuela border mishmash. Why partition the fields, the oil bonanzas? Like Alexander the Great, Don the Dominator is the best man to untie this hemisphere’s Gordian knot. The Persians can have Hormuz, convert it to a shrine. I believe this best oil deal ever will only last as long as Donny and Delcy are in charge. Remember I said so.

PNC Burnham nationalized the Bauxite & Sugar industries but he had no knowledge how to produce and market the products!! He only had knowledge of Bourda & Stabroek markets where he used to sell his New Nation Papers and handed out cassava sticks, riding his horse & smoking his Castro’s cigars!!!
Chavez nationalized the Venezuela oil industries; he also had no knowledge of production & marketing of the products!!!
