Man held with ganja at Onderneeming Sand Pitt
(Kaieteur News) – Police have arrested a 27-year-old construction worker following the discovery of suspected cannabis during a police operation on Monday at Onderneeming, Region Two.
According to a police release, at approximately 11:08hrs, ranks attached to the Onderneeming Sand Pit Police Outpost were on a police operation along the Onderneeming Sand Pit Access Road when they observed the suspect driving a motorcycle. Upon seeing the ranks, he reportedly attempted to turn around but was stopped.

A search was conducted, during which a transparent plastic bag containing leaves, seeds, and stems suspected to be cannabis was allegedly found concealed on his person. Further investigations caused the ranks to escort the suspect to a residence. There, he reportedly pointed out an area where another bag containing suspected cannabis was recovered.
The suspect was arrested and escorted to the Suddie Police Station. The suspected cannabis found on him was weighed and amounted to four grams, while the quantity recovered at the residence weighed 101.51 grams. The suspected narcotics were sealed, marked, and lodged. The suspect remains in custody as the investigation continues.
