ExxonMobil contract boat done gone ah falls
Dear Editor,
With regards to the lopsided Guyana/ ExxonMobil oil contract, boat done gone ah falls. Meaning, we may have missed the golden opportunity to renegotiate this lopsided oil contract.
We’re being bilked for billions of dollars by ExxonMobil. The majority of Guyanese citizens do not seem to be overtly concerned, preferring the “crumbs” from the master’s table.
There is very little Guyanese can do now that we have been hooked by ExxonMobil.
Let’s be sensible and not talk of shutting down the oil industry because our politicians have been useless at managing this emerging sector.
Guyana’s economy is performing relatively well so there is no need to cut your nose off to spite your face.
What pressure can be brought on our politicians so that they work in the best interest of all Guyanese?
Let’s not be confused as to what this is about. It is about one man wanting to leave a legacy after The Skeldon Sugar Factory fiasco.
What will that legacy be? Another White Elephant or a prosperous country?
